Who's the Christian Now?

This is an open letter to all those who call themselves Christian. To all those who wear little rubber bracelets imprinted "WWJD". To everyone who is sure the end of days are near, so there's no reason to act like real Christians, and just kill everyone who gets in their way. In other words, hypocrites.

"Thou hypocrite! First cast the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye."

Spoken by, oh yeah, some guy named Jesus. Who also said,

"Give, and it shall be given to you. For whatever measure you deal out to others, it will be dealt to you in return."

Which brings us to the shooting in Amish country this week. Five innocent girls died, as did the not-so-innocent shooter. The Amish buried them all this week. And prayed for all of them.

Are they going to sue anyone? No. Are they going to install metal detectors and security guards at their school doors? No. Are they blaming video games, or rap music, or homosexuality? No. They are simply praying to God for strength and support and the souls of the dead victims...all six of them.

So who's the Christian now? The ones urging the death of Muslims? Or the ones praying for a sick murderer?

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the Children of God." The rest of you belong to that other guy.
